Postdoctoral Researchers

At present, we do not have openings for postdoctoral researchers funded directly by the laboratory.

However, we are open to hosting postdocs supported by external fellowships. Please contact Prof. Sugano with details about the target funding. We are eligible to host fellows through the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and welcome Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship programs.

Doctoral Students

We accept doctoral students through the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo. If you wish to be accepted, please contact Prof. Sugano by email together with the required documents mentioned above. Be sure to also check the official admission guide.

Master’s Students

We also welcome master’s students through the Department of Information and Communication Engineering. Admission and laboratory assignment are determined solely through the master’s entrance examination. There is no need to submit any formal application documents or research proposals to our laboratory. Instead, we welcome prospective students who understand our research objectives and develop a genuine interest in our work. If you wish to visit the lab or have any questions regarding our research, please feel free to contact Prof. Sugano by email.

Research Students

In principle, our laboratory does not accept research students who aim only at entering the master’s program, regardless of funding source. However, we do accept research students who already hold a master’s degree and wish to continue to a doctoral program. Please check the guidelines for research students of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, and then contact Prof. Sugano with the required documents.

Internships

Our laboratory sometimes accepts research internships for undergraduate and graduate students. If you are interested in any of the research themes listed above, please send the required documents to Prof. Sugano by email.
